Shot in the North of England during the 1993 mining crisis, when the British government decided to close 31 pits, Mineurs follows Gladys, an Indo-Bolivian activist and miner’s daughter. Her memories are interwoven with the filmmaker’s reflection on his own origins and his relationship with miners, raising questions of origin, militancy, and belonging — or not belonging — to the working class.
Historical English synopsis preserved from the original film page.
